Balancinho by Claudia Leitte

Hardcuore created and produced the music video for "Balancinho," directed by Breno Pineschi and Rafael Cazes, and starring 200 versions of Claudia Leitte. The song became the major hit of Carnival 2019, and the video quickly captivated the audience, surpassing 4 million views in a short time.

Directing a music video entirely starring the same artist multiplied hundreds of times requires a complex pre- and post-production process, but we orchestrated a linear and surprising one-shot sequence with great precision.

A lot of Claudia at this Moment

Claudia sings, dances, swings, and sets the rhythm to Balancinho. Directing a music video entirely starring the same artist, multiplied hundreds of times, requires a complex pre- and post-production process. However, we orchestrated a linear and surprising one-shot sequence with absolute precision.

As the camera pulls back at a constant speed, controlled by a highly precise electronic telescopic crane, different versions of the same singer appear on screen. To achieve this, we measured the crane’s speed and determined where each Claudia needed to be positioned within the studio. By calculating time and space, we achieved perfect synchronization between different outfits, performances, choreography, and lip sync.

The entire video was shot using a green screen. For post-production, over 80,000 frames had to be cut out using rotoscoping, allowing full control over color, background, and scene treatment.

The typography at the beginning and end of the video is a real element captured in the studio: a mobile gently swinging to the groove of the music.

Balancinho was the hit of Carnival 2019, and its music video, released in November 2018, quickly surpassed 4 million views. It also generated various reactions on YouTube, including parodies that played with the techniques used and Claudia's versatility.
